S. Douglas Weil

S. Douglas Weil S. Douglas Weil has been actively involved in the real estate industry since 1960. In 1978, Mr. Weil became President and Chief Operating Officer of Paine Webber Properties, a real estate investment and advisory firm which created and managed real estate investment funds which were sold through the Paine Webber system. Mr. Weil was responsible for overseeing funds with assets in excess of $500 million.

Prior to starting Paine Webber Properties, Mr. Weil was Chief Investment Officer and Senior Vice President of Property Capital Trust, an equity REIT which specialized in equity investments in income producing properties located throughout the United States. Property Capital Trust was originally funded by nine private investors before going public in1972.

After forming his own firm in 1984, Mr. Weil managed real estate funds for a major offshore bank, was instrumental in forming a $40 million acquisition fund for a family-owned shopping center developer which managed over three million square feet of space, and of which he was Chief Operating Officer, and provided financing for various real estate companies.

Mr. Weil has been active in local and national real estate organizations. He currently serves as Chairman of the Commercial and Retail Council of the Urban Land Institute and is a Director of the National Multi Housing Council. He is also a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers, the Real Estate Finance Association of the Greater Boston Real Estate Board, and a director of the Babson College Center for Real Estate. Previously, Mr. Weil was a consultant to President Johnson's Commission on Low Income Housing, a vice president of the National Realty Committee and a member of the International Council of Shopping Center's Committee on Publicly Owned Companies.

Mr. Weil is a graduate of Princeton University and the Harvard Business School. He was chair of Princeton's National Alumni School Committee and has served on the Executive Board of Princeton's Alumni Council. He is a Town Meeting Member and was chairman of the Town Finance Committee in Wellesley, Massachusetts, and is on the Board of the Boston chapter of the American Jewish Committee, and previously was a member of the AJC's National Executive Council.
